Founder’s Story
It was a drizzly evening, and Harrison Smythe III, Kretchmer LaRue, and Andrew McSnazzington IV (whom we’ll just call the “founders” for now) had ducked into a local watering hole to escape the rain and commiserate about life working in a big technology company and the fact that they were now being asked to “return to the office 8 days a week”. Harrison sipped on a whiskey-soaked old-fashion; Kretchmer savored a fizzy mocktail with a paper umbrella; and Andrew enjoyed a refined gin and tonic - all engrossed in their own thoughts.
The dimly lit bar was mostly empty except for an old cowboy sitting in the corner, nursing a glass of what looked like dust and disappointment. The trio exchanged amused glances, thinking, “Ah, another grizzled veteran of…IT.”
Harrison leaned over to Kretchmer and whispered, “I wonder what’s his story?” Kretchmer raised an eyebrow and mouthed, “Who knows? Maybe he’s been in app security or cloud infrastructure too long.” Andrew chuckled and replied, “Or maybe he’s just a retired time-traveler, trying to blend in.”
As they continued to speculate about the old cowboy, the bartender noticed their interest and ambled over. He seemed to know exactly what was on their minds. “You folks might want to hear Buck’s story,” he said with a knowing smile.
“Buck here can see the future,” said the bartender with a straight face. The trio leaned in, awaiting the punchline.
Their skepticism melted away as they looked back at Buck, and his weathered appearance seemed to take on a new significance. Harrison asked Buck, “Ah, really? Can you tell us what the future holds?” Buck gazed into his glass, which seemed to be filled with an otherworldly fog. He spoke in a low, gravelly voice, “I see… convergence. LLMs meeting individuals in a dance of creativity and chaos.”
Kretchmer furrowed his brow. “Convergence? You mean like the merging of two ideas?” Buck’s eyes sparkled, but he just chuckled knowingly and said, “More like a rodeo of minds - with no clear winner or loser… yet.”
Andrew scribbled some notes on his napkin, while Harrison and Kretchmer looked at each other, both thinking, “This is either utter nonsense or the most intriguing idea we’ve ever heard.” The old cowboy leaned in closer, his voice a whispered secret. “Imagine AI assistants that learn not just from data but about individuals…and from each other…imagine the possibilities.”
As Buck finished speaking and returned to his glass, the trio couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder and excitement. They exchanged nods and smiles, and Harrison spoke up, “That’s incredible! What if we could make that happen?” Andrew’s eyes lit up, and Kretchmer’s face was alight with enthusiasm.

They continued to discuss Buck’s words and only paused when they looked around the bar…and noticed something. Buck was no longer sitting in his corner chair. In fact, he seemed to have vanished into thin air. The trio exchanged confused glances, and suddenly the room felt a little too quiet.
“Wait,” Harrison said, a feeling of unease creeping over him. “Where’s Buck?” The bartender smiled knowingly, but didn’t say anything. The three friends looked at each other in confusion, and then back to the empty chair, as if expecting Buck to materialize out of thin air once again.
They sat there for a moment, trying to process what had just happened…and it was Andrew who finally broke the silence. “You think we were really talking to him?” he asked, a mixture of awe and uncertainty in his voice. Harrison and Kretchmer looked at each other, shrugged, and then back at their friend.
“I don’t know,” Harrison said, “but I do know one thing…we have to make that idea happen.”
And with that, the three friends leaned forward, their eyes shining with excitement and determination. The dusty old bar around them melted away, replaced by a future full of possibility and promise. And so, SagaIQ was born that night in a dusty old bar, over whiskey-soaked dreams, fizzy mocktails, and a whispered promise of the future.
The whole truth and nothing but the truth
Ok…ok not entirely a true story to say the least. We believe in having some fun around here. But, how much of the story did you think is actually true? Let’s see how you did.
Yes there are really 3 founders - that was probably an easy one for you. I am sure you guessed there was something about the names. Turns out they are not our real first names but using our middle names as first names (yes even Kretchmer). The last names are totally made up and have no significance. (We are staying a bit anonymous for now - makes for a better story.) The drinks listed are our favorite drinks with one of us who doesn’t drink alcohol at all thus the mocktail. (We do not hold this against them). Throughout this journey (aka Saga - get it?), there was no mysterious Buck with riddles of the future. We actually came up with the idea while trying to leverage AI to solve some real life problems, failing and convinced there was a better way. We do spend a lot of time in virtual rooms (and the occasional bar) working through the details with “excitement and determination” as mentioned above (along with some anxiety, stress and often lack of sleep - which we failed to mention in the story). All-in-all it’s been a fun saga so far and we look forward to getting to know YOU better next.
